Enhancing society-related sustainability research
Commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Science, Research and Industry (BMWFW); project duration: May 2011 – Dec 2015
Project management and implementation: Dr. Anja Christanell (OIN)
The project “Enhancing social sustainability-related research” was established at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) for the period from May 2011 to December 2015. In the course of the BMWFW (formerly BMWF) funded service agreement, the Austrian Institute for Sustainable Development (OIN) is since then in charge of the project and the ÖIN-focus of society-related sustainability research has been established at the Centre for Global Change and Sustainability (GWN) of the BOKU. In continuous consultation with the GWN the ÖIN supported the enhancement of society-related sustainability research in the university sector as a whole and at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) in particular.
By the BMWFW-funded service agreement between the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences and the Austrian Institute for Sustainable Development it was possible to develop research priorities, to consolidate the internationalization of scientific work, to acquire new projects, to increase public work and publication activities, as well as to qualify university graduates to start their careers.
