Not only consumers, but also businesses are increasingly discovering the possibilities of communication through online platforms and in forums and are using these channels to scour the market for demand, marketing their products and launching innovations. The aim of this study is to evaluate the situation regarding possible ways in which new online media and platforms may be employed to create markets and demand for sustainable products and technologies.

The study serves as a preliminary information and communication basis for the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology, with the aim of continuing investigations into further strategies regarding this trend, e.g. in the form of projects, research programmes, events or new means of cooperation and communication.
